Man killed at downtown Minneapolis hotel

Minneapolis MN – February 12, 2012 – (www.hospitalitybusinessnews.com) The Star Tribune is reporting that a 33-year-old man was shot and killed early Saturday on one of the upper floors of the Millennium Hotel.

The victim, Jeremy Robert Shannon of Minneapolis, died as the result of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner.

Police stated that there were several witnesses to the incident and that one person is in custody.

Shannon had at least one previous arrest on drug related charges according to Mugshots.com.

"Our downtown area is pretty safe relative to other cities our size," McCarty said Saturday afternoon. "I'd categorize [the shooting] at this point as an isolated incident."
